Group Therapy
Group Therapy
Groups are run by Sophia Sandoval-Meyer, LCSW, also known as the leader / group facilitator. Sessions include four to eight members and one to two therapists, depending on the topic/ subject matter. Safety of group members is always a priority when determining group size.
Group therapy sessions are generally 75 minutes to 90 minutes in length, per session.
In group therapy there is a common issue that brings group members together. Sophia works to create an environment where all members feel safe and supported.
Group therapy is an effective way for children and teens to work through various issues, because children feel supported, understood, and no longer alone in his/ her problems. Feedback from other members is valuable and can help to influence a change in certain behaviors.
